FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES
With the objective of becoming a company that “contributes to community health through the production and sale of products that are both delicious and beneficial to health, based on technologies developed over 100 years in Japan,” Morinaga Nutritional Foods Viet Nam Joint Stock Company is committed to fully implementing social responsibility throughout all of its production and business activities.
We respect human rights, ensure fair, transparent and humane working conditions, and build a working environment aligned with the principles of SMETA and international labor standards.
FUNDAMENTAL POLICIES
1 – We establish objectives and implement activities to ensure full compliance with social responsibility in accordance with SMETA (Labour – Health & Safety – Environment – Business Ethics); and commit to the continual improvement of the social responsibility management system through periodic review.
2 – We strictly manage compliance with labour laws, human rights, wages, working hours and social insurance regulations; and comply with requirements related to occupational health and safety, environmental protection and anti-corruption, ensuring fulfilment of our commitments on social responsibility and business ethics.
3 – We build a transparent and fair working environment that respects human dignity; and ensure working conditions appropriate to the physical and mental well-being of employees.
4 – All employees and management levels shall implement the following social responsibility principles:
(1) No child labour; no forced, bonded or compulsory labour in any form.
(2) Responsible recruitment practices; no recruitment fees charged to employees; no retention of personal identification documents or personal property.
(3) No discrimination; no harassment, abuse or inhumane treatment in the workplace.
(4) Working hours, overtime, wages and benefits shall comply with applicable laws and be implemented transparently.
(5) Respect for freedom of association, dialogue and consultation rights of employees in accordance with the law.
(6) Establish and maintain a transparent grievance handling mechanism; ensuring employees are not disadvantaged or retaliated against for raising concerns.
(7) Comply with occupational health & safety and environmental protection requirements in accordance with the Company’s internal policies and regulations.
(8) Conduct business ethically; prevent bribery and corruption; and ensure transparency within the supply chain.
5 – We commit to engaging and consulting employees and their Trade Union representatives; and to providing sufficient resources to maintain and operate the social responsibility management system in accordance with SMETA requirements.
6 – This policy shall be communicated to all employees and disclosed publicly to relevant stakeholders.
